It’s really a mystery the way life comes at you real quick. You know, a monk once explained that the reason why its very easy to pick up people’s fault and not one’s is the exact reason why one’s nose is above one’s mouth. When an individual does not brush his teeth for days, as soon as he opens it, it emits foul odour which would immediately disgust people in that room. Whereas, such person would have a hard time perceiving such fetid except he/she observes closely.
Life in itself is such a dramatic housewife. You may never be able to predict. If you try, you just might not be able to get it correctly. I’m starting to love the fact that plans don’t necessarily have to go the way you wished. You must know that change is key. Unpredictability and rapid turn of events are all a part of the roses that decorate life.
On Sunday, I was privileged to anchor a youth programme in church where the centre piece of my message was on “victory through praise”. I gave the illustration of Jehoshaphat who won a battle through singing and praises. I emphatically said that the formula for success for year 2021 was victory through praises.
Barely 12hours after my momentary escape. A text came in few minutes past midnight. Lo, it was my ACCA results. I wrote two papers in late 2020 and I failed them both honourably. There were a lot of reasons to be angry at the result. Just about time for me to fume and bemoan my lot, a question popped in my heart “How exactly did you say you wanted victory this year? ” I paused to remember that, it was through praise.
Right there, I just began to say thank you Lord. It honestly didn’t make sense and maybe it still doesn’t . All I know it’s that God’s ways are never men’s. Praises attract the blessings of God. There’s even greater compensation for the most bitsy obedience. I’m grateful I took that hour off to say like casting crowns “I’d praise you in this storm” You can too.
