What’s Trending?

The World Changes Fast, But This Truth Never Does: Stop Drifting with the Tide of Opinion

Have you noticed how trends come and go? What was once called “truth” last year can suddenly be labeled “irrelevant” today. Everyone seems to have a new opinion, a new gospel, a new “way” to live. You are living in a world full of noise, a ceaseless and confusing flood of voices competing for your attention.

Doctrines pop up daily, promising “fresh revelations” that often contradict the timeless foundations of faith. But before you drift with the tide of popular voices, pause and remember this unshakable promise:

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Isaiah 40:8 (KJV)

The Peril of Being Tossed To and Fro

If you are not rooted, if your beliefs are not securely fastened to an unchanging source, you will find yourself tossed around like a leaf in a storm. You will believe one thing today and something entirely different tomorrow. The shifting sands of cultural acceptance and fleeting philosophies are too unstable to build your life upon.

As the Apostle Paul warned:

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” Ephesians 4:14 (KJV)

You were not created to be blown about by every passing wind. You were made to stand firm, to walk in clarity, and to carry an inner stability that defies the surrounding chaos.

In this new year, choose to stay rooted in the sound doctrines of the Bible.

Anchor Your Heart to What Does Not Fade

This is why you must anchor your heart to what does not fade. God’s Word is not a trend. It is truth! It does not age. It does not lose relevance. It does not depend on cultural approval.

The strength of your foundation is found in the WORD’s eternal nature:

“For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89 (KJV)

When you build your faith on this unchanging WORD, you gain a foundation that cannot be shaken. You stand when others are swept away by confusion, fear, and popular sentiment.

Test What You Hear: Your Compass

So test what you hear. Measure it by Scripture. When someone speaks, do not only ask, “Does this sound right?”

Let your primary question become, “Is this written?”

John the beloved advised in I John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Because only what is written stands forever. Let the WORD be your compass when opinions collide, your rock when philosophies shift, and your voice when silence feels safer than truth.

Daily Exercises to Anchor Yourself in Christ

A sturdy anchor is useless if it is never dropped into the sea floor. Anchoring your soul in Christ is not only a one-time decision. It is a daily discipline. To stand unshakable, you must deliberately practice these spiritual exercises:

  1. The Morning Watch
Begin your day not with your phone, not with headlines, not with trending arguments, but with the WORD of God.

“O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” Psalm 119:97 (KJV)
Commit to reading Scripture before the noise of the world begins.

  1. The Prayer of Alignment
When you pray, do not only list your needs. Pray the Scriptures. Ask the Holy Spirit to align your heart and mind with eternal truth, not with passing anxieties or cravings.
  2. The Review and Renew
At the close of your day, reflect on what you heard, watched, and consumed. Did any of it contradict the Word? Filter your inputs through Scripture, repent where your thoughts drifted, and renew your mind for the morning.
  3. The Fellowship of the Steadfast
Walk with believers who are also committed to standing on the infallible WORD of God.

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17 (KJV)
Accountability strengthens endurance.

Final Thought

The world changes fast, but truth never does. Stay rooted. Stay unshakable. Stay in the WORD.

Today, choose to stay on the immutable WORD of God. If you have not yet repented of your sins, do not wait any longer. Ask Christ in to your heart today, and you will be glad you did!

P.S. Compliments of the new year to you. Expect to see me on the 15th and 29th of each month this year. Ciao!
