Cleanliness is Ideal

You’ve heard often time that cleanliness is next to Godliness. I believe that cleanliness unlocks indelible inward fulfilment. There’s a peace of mind that comes when you stay in a clean environment. Indeed, there is a certain inexplicable satisfaction that comes with deliberate actions to tidying up a place. Have you observed that as an adult now, chores don’t seem like chores anymore? Did you notice that they feel more like a part of living?

I remember during my teenage days, it was such a grisly hell attending to various chores in the home. Its usually accompanied with a lot of grudges, reluctance and hesitation. I guessed I did them then because of my Mother who was a no-nonsense and stern disciplinarian. She never allowed any form of laxity or non-compliance. In fact, I was heavily punished if I didn’t do the house chores. After serving those punishment, she’d ensured that I still did them. Taking care of the house was as natural as the air we breathe for my Mother and it was a cinch for every of her children have that ingrained in them.

Eventually, when I left home for school, those lessons became an integral part of me. I felt most miserable when I woke up and I did forget to lay my bed. I could probably rush back to do so if I could. Ensuring that my clothes were neatly folded into my wardrobe was a priority task. I bet that I hated seeing items not placed in their right positions or especially items taken out of their original positions.

In fact, I didn’t know how much effect those trainings my mother doled out had on me until Saturdays. It was like a taboo not to wash my clothes, sweep/mop the floor, wash the dishes if any on such days before heading out to the library to study. Cleanliness already had a deep root in my belief systems or say bloodstream. I did the the least to the most task. I was keen on practically doing whatever it took to get my environment neat always. This trait is one I cherish so much and eternally grateful for.

Owning an apartment has made me realized how much more cleanliness should be the ideal for everyone. I feel very fulfilled whenever I enter my kitchen and find it sparkling innocuously. Its even a greater delight to smell nice fragrance in my living room with each items of furniture well carefully placed. My bedroom gives me much joy when I see my laundry taken care of and my bedclothes beautifully laid.

In truth, cleanliness breeds God’s presence. You cannot debate the fact that a clean environment keeps diseases far away, helps in identifying items easily, helps you organize your home better, brings good people to your house and does command God’s blessings on you. I thought it luscious to share this with y’all. Don’t forget to be habitually neat. Dress neatly. Wear a sweet perfume. Do away from body and mouth odor. Make cleanliness an habit.

Thank you and God bless you
