You asked for it and here it is – I bring you the concluding part of this piece. In the first part, I was analyzing the bridge to that popular song titled “Oceans“. We talked already about walking upon the waters.
“Wherever you would call me” has a strong link with the fact that God’s ways are not human’s. I remember many times, I would love to do some things in a certain way but the spirit of God would call me to approach it in a different manner. The problem is not in hearing what God has to say, it’s most time understanding why he has to say what He’s said.
The irony is that we seldom question people who are more intelligent than us or are in certain authorities when they request of us to do certain things. Infact, we do them without any complains. We trust their discretion. We trust their intuition completely. We even say they are versed and have all the rights to call for such actions. Phew! How come we question God all the time? Why do we ask why? This is God who means much for us. Who knows us better than ourselves, family or any authority.
The next time He calls us to do things we don’t understand. Pray for your eyes of understanding to be enlightened as in Ephesians 1:18, do it and stop asking why. Say like that songwriter, Wherever He leads me, I will go. I don’t know why but I know and I trust that His ways are best.
“Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander” I don’t know about you but this is the depth that I want to get with God. I believe the reason most of us Christians are having an erratic relationship with God is because our feet still wanders. We haven’t gotten to the point where we surrender in totality to God. We have not trusted Him enough to give up on the world and worldiness. We hold God for 75%, and keep the balance to different worldly affiliations. Hey there, it doesn’t work that way. God’s requirements for your feet to not wander is an 100% trust. It’s hard but achievable. May God help us (Amen)
“And my faith will be made stronger“. In recent times, I have had a really troubling time with my faith. As an overthinker, I sometimes think through what I want and hope to achieve it in the next minute. I always bank on my timing due to anxiety. I have however learnt that God’s time is always the best. It’s reassuring. It makes your faith stronger. You are confident that if God began it, He will see it through. Wow. That’s relieving! Needless to say, all that He has started in your life, He will accomplish them, hang on.
“In the presence of my saviour” Here, is where I want to be always. David said in Psalm 27:4 “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple”. There is fullness of joy, in His presence. There’s blessings, peace and satisfaction.
Oceans! What a song! A song loaded with a lot of lessons. Teaching God’s core principles at its best. I bless the name of the LORD for the writer of the song. I hope you’ve learnt this too as the songwriter concluded “My soul will rest in your embrace, I am yours and you are mine”
