Can I be less productive today?
Yes and No.๐
Everyone loves to be productive. In fact, more people tend to seek or search for better ways to improve their productivity at work.
It begs the question, how do you increase productivity on a seemingly bad day? Have you had a really rough day at work? The struggle in the night, the traffic on the way to work, an exchange of gruesome words with a family member or colleague or ill health or a psychological breakdown or something not just fitting and you can’t place what.
First, it’s absolutely normal to experience such days and you don’t have to be too hard on yourself.
For me, on such days, I do any or combination of these:
- I listen to cool music at a very high sound.ย
- Since work mode has not been activated, I work on the easier task first, you know those easy ones you rarely need your brains to do.ย
- I take a stroll and take a fresh air or place a call to a trusted friend/family that can enliven me
- Sometimes, I try to visit social media but I time myself (there’s a huge temptation not to return to work)
- And yes, the most likely one, I take a nap (don’t ask me where) but I do. Many times, the most righteous thing to do is to unclog your brains.ย
